Senior Support Services
EVCSFB offers many services and programs for our elderly and disabled. Our goal is to enhance the health,
quality of life, social well-being of our senior citizens by providing access to resources, health care,
social services, fitness, food, clothing, as well as opportunities for education, recreation and involvement
in the community. By doing so we are providing support for elderly to remain living in their homes independently.
EVCSFB Senior Program and Services
SAIL provides seniors with exercise classes to maintain their strength, balance to keep from falling. Classes
are usually twice a week and are scheduled throughout the year. Check our calendar for dates and times.
Seniors are offered a variety of special events including our Health and Wellness Fair, Spirit of Giving Fest and
Potluck Dinners. We will be adding more as the year progresses. Check our calendar for dates, new events and times.
TRIPS Transportation Assistance
EVCSFB provides transporation to medical appointments for seniors and 55+ disabled who do not qualify for
transportation services and who do not have any means of transportation. With our own van and our network
of volunteer drivers, we'll help you get to your medical appointments! EVCSFB can help connect people with
the right transportation resources who qualify for those services. Transportation is available May - September only!
By connecting youth and adults in search of work with seniors in need of help, EVCSFB in partnership with
Catholic Family & Child Services helps older adults live independently in their homes for as long as possible.
Volunteer workers assist seniors with light housekeeping. For information or to volunteer call 509-888-3999.
Benefit Services - Information & Referral
Finding the right resources can sometimes become frustrating and complicated, EVCSFB will help you. EVCSFB
can also assist in applying for Social Services, Veterans Assistance, Social Security, Health Insurance, Food Stamps,
Heating Assistance, Utility and Rent Assistance and Shelter. Our trained volunteer staff can help you understand
the application process, and provide you information and referral for services and resources.
Meals - Assisting Angels
An important program and service that EVCSFB provides is nutritious meals for men and women who are elderly, homebound, disabled, ill, frail, or at risk. Volunteers cook and prepare meals to be delivered to elderly once a week until they can manage on their own again.
Meals - 'Friends & Neighbors' Potluck Dinner
Provides nutritious meals for men and women cooked and prepared by EVCSFB or the community. People bring their favorite dish and share it with others. Socializing, meeting new friends, enjoy entertainment, speakers and presentation from various organizations on a wide variety of subjects. Meals & Potluck Dinner are held two Fridays of each month. Check calendar for dates and times.
Join in a board or card games,puzzles, crafts, volunteer, paint, watch a movie, listen to music, Wii bowling, dance, special events, take classes, workshops, keep fit, ice cream social, and share nutritious meals! Or just come and enjoy chit-chat and a cup of coffee. Entiat 'Hat Project' is a program in our Seniors Connect, that provides children with hand made knitted hats, made from donated yarn that seniors create, which can be done at home or in a group setting. EVCSFB hopes to add more programs and activities to our Seniors Connect program in the coming months. Check calendar for events and new activities.
EVCSFB hopes to offer and expand classes and workshops such as: painting, AARP Safe Driving, crafts and arts and entertainment! For information check back often or if you have a suggestion send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
EVCSFB offers a variety of health checks and health care opportunities including Diabetes Education & Awareness, Blood Pressure Checks, Prescription and Over the Counter Drug Checks, Flu Shots, classes and more.
Each month birthdays are celebrated of our senior neighbors. Seniors receive a cake and birthday card!
REACH Friendly Phone Calls and Visits
Volunteers call and visit seniors once a month to assure their well-being and safety.
Volunteers deliver books, videos, music tapes and puzzles for seniors to their homes.
Share The Warmth
Seniors are provided hand made shawls, Afghans, Lap blankets to keep comfy and warm. Blankets are also provided.
FIRES - firewood
Free firewood is provided by volunteers and donated wood to elderly, families and disabled who only source of heat or cooking is wood.
Snow Shovel Brigade
Volunteers in winter shovel seniors and disabled paths so they will not fall and to keep them safe.
Volunteers provide minor home repairs, hanging handicap railing, clean yard from leaves, carry wood in, etc. Seniors must provide the materials for the repair to receive free labor.
Pet Food Bank
Program provides free pet food for low income seniors who would otherwise be unable to keep their pets. We hope to extend this to veternarian care for pets later on.
EVCSFB has partnered with RSVP to provide volunteers 55+ opportunities to contribute in the community through active volunteerism. Opportunities for seniors are knitting hats for children (yarn and supplies provided), making phone calls, sending out thank you or birthday cards and many more. Check
